First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out

Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out

Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me

And there was no one left to speak for me.

I stand with Jews, as they mourn the terrorism that has torn their homeland apart.

I stand with Jews, as they pray for the safe return of their family members stolen from them.

I stand with Jews, as they have to deal with hatred and ignorance.

I stand with Jews, as they try to understand the silence in the wake of terrorism that would never happen for any other group.

I will speak out.
